PRINCE2® 2009 has arrived!

26/06/2009

The refresh of PRINCE2 has been officially launched by the APMG.

As one of the UK's leading PRINCE2 and Project Management training providers, FGI is now offering the entire range of PRINCE2 2009 examination courses.

From the 3rd August all PRINCE2 public schedule courses will be delivered to PRINCE2 2009.

The key developments of the 2009 refresh were driven by the requirements and feedback of the user community. The most visible change is that there are now two guides for PRINCE2;

  • Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 - aimed at people who manage projects or work as part of a project team
  • Directing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 - provides a guide for those who sponsor projects or function at a decision-making level on projects

PRINCE2 keeps its core value of being a universal method for the effective management of projects of any size and in any environment, and its key concepts remain largely unchanged in the new manual, while incorporating cutting-edge good practice in the application of these concepts. Some of the more subtle improvements included in the new manual are:

  • PRINCE2 is even less prescriptive and more flexible
  • PRINCE2 is less theoretical and more practical
  • PRINCE2 now has a set of clearly defined principles
  • PRINCE2 is more streamlined and easier to apply
  • There is more guidance on how to tailor PRINCE2 to the needs of different organisations and projects
  • PRINCE2 is designed to align with other OGC products, such as Management of Risk (M_o_R), MSP and ITIL
  • There is greater emphasis on the importance of softer aspects of project management
