Course Outline

Course Overview

The PRINCE2 Practitioner Upgrade course os preliminary self-study, which will be guided by one of FGI's trainers, will take delegates through the full range of PRINCE2. As well as covering all the key components and processes, it will provide instruction on aspects such as controlling a stage, managing product delivery, managing stage boundaries, project initiation, project start-up, planning and control.

The first classroom day will enable delegate to practise Practitioner type questions and it will be followed by a revision period before the exam itself is taken on the second classroom day-usually about a week later.

Course Objective

This course has been developed in order to take delegates who have already passed the PRINCE2 Foundation examination to the level of PRINCE2 Practitioner.

The course has been designed to make use, in the first instance, of guided self-study so as to bring delegates 'up to speed' with PRINCE2. It will then move to the classroom for an exam preparation day, which is followed by further revision before the Practitioner exam itself is taken, usually a week later.

Who will Benefit

Delegates must have already passed the PRINCE2 Foundation examination and will be taking the Upgrade course either to achieve the Practitioner status or to Re-Register their Practitioner status. Those who passed Foundation fairly recently and have been using PRINCE2 in their 'day job' will need to set aside about fifteen hours for self study before the first classroom day (Exam Prep Day). Those for whom this is not true may need to allow a little more time. Delegates who are upgrading having not studied their Foundation course with FGI will also require the Pre-Course Workbook.

Course Arrangements

The cost of this event depends upon how and when delegates passed their Foundation exam.

Delegates who passed the exam on an FGI Foundation course will require the Practitioner Study Pack and the two classroom days.

All other delegates will require the Pre-Course Workbook, the Practitioner Study Pack and the two classroom days.

Examination:

The Practitioner exam will be held on the final day of the course. It is a three-hour, Objective Testing Examination (complex multiple-choice). There a nine questions based around a case study scenario. Delegates are allowed to use an annotated PRINCE2 manual to assist them in the examination. The pass mark is 50% averaged across all nine questions.
