Course Outline

Course Outline:

However experienced in their own areas, managers may be less sure of how to sponsor or direct projects and be effective as a member of a PRINCE2® Project Board.

They may often have questions regarding what an effective Project Board looks like, what will be expected of them in this role and what they should expect of their Project Manager, who will be managing the project on their behalf. Crucially, how do they ensure that they keep control over the project while delegating authority to the Project Manager? Without any previous knowledge of PRINCE2, how do they know the Project Manager is applying the method appropriately and tailoring it to the needs of the project?

The PRINCE2 Project Board is the project's major decision-making forum. Therefore, it is vital that Project Board members understand what decisions they are expected to make and what information is required/available to help make those decisions.

This course, run as an interactive workshop, equips actual or potential Project Board Members with the PRINCE2 terminology and concepts, and prepares them to operate in different Project Board situations. It familiarises them with the PRINCE2 decision-making processes and will show them how to maintain the momentum of the project in the right direction, with the least bureaucracy.
