PRINCE2 2009: What's Changed?

For the past couple of months the PRINCE2 community has been adapting itself to the latest edition of the methodology. The working title in development was PRINCE2:2009, however it has since been officially released as Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 5th edition.

This new edition of the manual is the culmination of a project started in 2006 by the team that looks at the continual improvement of OGC Best Practice products. More than 170 organisations and individuals provided feedback as part of the consultation process.

The refresh of PRINCE2 keeps its core value of being a universal management method for any project, regardless of type, scale, culture or geography. The improvements and refinements are based on user feedback and the different challenges that face today's projects.

The purpose of this White Paper is to provide information about both the changes to PRINCE2 between the 4th edition and the 5th edition of the manual and the changes in the environment surrounding PRINCE2.
