Taking Shape
In 1998, having monitored the IT market closely, FGI positioned itself in the Java and XML space, providing specific Consultancy & Development services and creating a leading IT Education Practice.

Subsequently, FGI were the 1st Training Company in the UK to provide XML training courses, which led to strategic alliances with European-based SGML Technologies to introduce XML consultancy services in UK.

During the following 2 years, FGI worked continuously to deliver ground breaking EDI-XML conversions for the well-known UK Insurance standards body, Origo. This work led to FGI being recognised by IBM who commissioned FGI to write an EDI-XML Education Programme (Now licensed to IBM).

Other significant wins for FGI was the XML Framework Design Specification developed for two major UK online banks, becoming exclusive suppliers of Java and XML resource and training to Scoot.com plc and achieving the highest accreditation for IT training delivery with the Institute of IT Training (IITT).

Enter Ariba
In 1999, FGI were appointed as a Certified Ariba Systems Integration Partner providing implementation services to Ariba and it's client fir Ariba's market leading Enterprise Spend Management software throughout EMEA. Customers included Du Pont, Guinness, BMW, Credit Lyonnais, Philips, Credit Suisse and Goldnet.
